PHOTOWALKS
What is a photowalk?
For me, it is simply taking a break and getting outside; whether it be my neighborhood, someone else's neighborhood, or driving to a place I've never been before. Having zero expectations of what I may find along the way. Taking nothing but my camera with me.

I walk around until something catches my eye or stops me in my tracks. It can be something as simple as a pile of leaves on the ground, a couple crossing the street, a beautifully aged building, or just the way the light shines through a window.
There are some days I choose to walk around because I may be struggling with something, and that reflects how and what I photograph as well. Other times I need to get out just so I can fall in love with it again.

No matter what it is that has got me out of the house each day for these photos, one thing remains the same.
They are my memories.
As I sift through them, I remember what I felt. I remember why I chose that day to walk, what the weather was like, the snack I brought with me, who I talked to on my journey, and the moment I knew I got the shot.

You could look at these photos and easily think there isn't much going on in them. And you may be right.
Some are simple, delicate even. But as you stroll with me here, I hope you feel a sense of joy and peace as you look through them.

I take these photos as a reminder of the beauties of the world that I believe are still out there. Beauty that we can only see when we stop and take it all in.
